The Founder

My name is Kholiswa Sidlayiya. I am from Gauteng, South Africa. By profession I am a qualified aircraft maintenance mechanic with seven years in aviation.

I know what it means for every detail to matter. In aviation there is no room for shortcuts — what holds something together on the inside determines everything about how it performs. I brought that same precision to RESANÉA.

RESANÉA is my first creative project. It was not born from a fashion background or a design school. It was born from a question I could not stop asking — what if the clothes we wear every day could quietly heal us while we go about the serious business of living?

As an African woman I grew up knowing that the continent has always held deep wisdom about healing. That wisdom lives in our plants, our rituals, our hands, and our materials. I wanted to bring it to the global luxury market — not as a trend, but as a truth.

RESANÉA is built the way I was trained to build things. With precision. With intention. With the understanding that what happens on the inside — the fabric against your skin, the protein in the silk, the minerals in the thread — determines everything about how you feel when you walk out the door.
